A vision with a mission
Ascent’s story began in a small office in Noida in 1997. It wasn’t their first rodeo, as both our co-founders Annauj Mattoo and Amul Mehrotra came together, backed with experience and skill to give life to an idea that became their company. And as they say, success is best when it is shared, 25 years later, and this partnership is still going strong.
A proud Mayoite (Mayo College, Ajmer), Annauj has nearly 30 years of experience in hard goods and textiles. Similarly, Amul, a true blue Semite (St. Joseph’s College, Nainital), also comes with three decades of skill and knowledge in the sourcing sector. Both are avid golfers, and when not jumping through hoops at their work stations, they can be seen teeing off against each other at their favorite golf-course. They say that golfers have a fairway of dealing with challenges- be it at work, or their preferred choice of battleground, Annauj and Amul, are experts at finding the perfect approach to any situation.
Their vision and leadership is what drove their commitment to delivering unparalleled quality and service, shaping the future of our industry. Today, Ascent is a market leader and pioneer, only because two friends, with fires in their bellies, shared a common steadfast goal-to revolutionize the buying and sourcing at the core- in India and abroad.
